Scrip News December 11, 2007

December 17 will be the last scrip order day for this year. If you wish to place and order, please have the order at the school office or parish office before 9:30 am on Monday December 17. The completed orders may not be ready by the time school ends on Wednesday, December 19. If ordering, please note an alternate form of pick-up.

Scrip orders will resume Monday, January 8, 2008. Have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This week's changes:

• Kay Jewelers gift cards are now available in $50 denominations. The discount remains the same at 12%.

• Hard Rock Cafe has changed the discount amount to 10%. The gift cards are still offered in $25 denominations.

• Borders has extended their bonus until December 21. The gift cards are offered at an 11% bonus.

• Barnes and Noble is offering a a 1% bonus on all gift card purchases from December 15 until December 21, 2007. That means you can purchase Barnes & Noble gift cards with a 10% contribution instead of the normal 9%. This includes the $20 “Teacher Gift” card.

Can you believe it is already the end of November? There are only 28 more shopping days until Christmas!

Would you like some help with your shopping? Don't forget the scrip program. We have gift cards for all those on your shopping lists. The GCA certificates and Kroger gift cards are also available .

Business Owners -- do you purchase business gifts for thank you's, incentives, safety awards? Are you restricted from purchasing from a non-profit? Do you need to use a corporate credit card, or need a specific receipt? If so, you may be interested in Rewardsandmoregiftcards.com. It is not too early to be thinking about the holidays. Take some of the hassle out of your holiday shopping by ordering gift cards, and help to reduce your tuition cost at the same time.

The number of merchants that are joining the scrip program keeps on growing. Not only do we have access to the national companies, we now have many local merchants who participate in our program through GCA or GiftCertificatesAmerica. By purchasing the GCA certificates you are not only helping with your tuition costs, you are also helping local individual business owners.

Scrip order forms, Kroger Gift Cards, and GCA certificates will be available in the gathering space after the weekend masses. If you are not sure which would better suit your needs, stop by and check out the lists of merchants.

Save yourself time and energy. Don't forget how much easier Christmas shopping can be if you take advantage of the gift cards. There are even gift card wrappers available to “wrap” your present.

This weeks additions and changes:

• CVS/pharmacy is running a 1% bonus discount from October 13 until October 26, 2007. this means that the $25 gift card will be sold at a 3% discount instead of the normal 2%.

• Quiznos will now be sold in a $10 gift card. This discount remains the same at 8%.
  

• BP has extended its 1% bonus discount through December 31, 2007. When you purchase the $50 gift card you receive a 3% bonus instead of the normal 2%.

• Fashion Bug has now joined the retailer list. Fashion Bug is available in a $25 gift card with a 6% discount. These cards may also be used at Catherines, Lane Bryant, Lane Bryant outlet stores, or Petite Sophisticate Outlet stores and/or onlline. It may not be used to make payments on any credit account.

• Shell has extended their 1% bonus discount through December 31, 2007. So when you purchase a Shell Gift card before 2008 you will receive a 2.5% bonus instead of the normal 1%.

• Cabela's is offering a 3% bonus discount from October 13 until November 23, 2007. That means you can buy the $25 and $100 gift cards with a 14% discount instead of the normal 11%.

• American Eagle has increased their discount from 8% to 9%. The gift cards are available in $25 denominations.

• L.L. Bean is offering free shipping when you purchase their gift cards through December 21, 2007. There is no minimum purchase.

• Travelocity Incentives Hotel Card is now available. These cards are available in a $100 denomination with a 9% discount. The gift cards are redeemable ONLY toward HOTEL RESERVATIONS made online through travelocityincentives.com website.

• Ticketmaster is now available in a $50 gift card with a discount of 4%. This gift card may be used to purchase tickets to participating events and other qualifying items at www.ticketmaster.com, through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone, and at participating retail outlets and venue box offices. The card is Not accepted for non-US events.

• Kay Jewelers is now available in a $25 gift card with a 12% discount. This gift card may only be used to purchase merchandise and services at Kay Jewelers and the card has no expiration date or dormancy fees.

• Burger King National Sandwich Day Cash Giveaway to celebrate National Sandwich Day, November 3, 2007, Burger King will award $500 to one lucky GLSC client organization. On that day, Great Lakes Scrip Center will determine the winner by randomly selecting one Burger King gift card that was ordered and shipped during the month of October 2007. The more Burger King gift cards you purchase, the better your chances of winning!

Great News! The scrip information will be on the school website. It may take a couple of days to get everything up but look there for updates, additions, bonuses, order forms and applications.

We also have a new line of gift certificates that will be offered through the scrip program. This is a paper certificate offered through GCA (Gift Certificates America) that will be accepted at over 300 LOCAL stores and restaurants. Most of the stores are in the St. Matthews and Highlands area. These certificates are offered in $10, $25 and $50 denominations, however please start out with $10 denominations. Each certificate can be used at one participating location, and no change will be given. Please go to the school site on www.ascension-parish.com and click on the link to Scrip for more information

School Families the last day to place your 100% first order is Monday, December 4, 2006. All orders after December 4th will be 50/50 split orders. Please don’t wait.
