HEAR YE, HEAR YE!                                                                                                                  There will be a Major Announcement later this week! We are talking, really AWESOME news. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to let you know exactly what this announcement is just yet, but believe me when I tell you to make plans to join us on Saturday September 28th to celebrate. The announcement will be coming out on Thursday. The Fall Festival was planned to celebrate this amazing news. The athletic department is excited to be in charge of this celebration. So here is what we have planned. As of now, weather permitting, we plan to have everything set up outside. Immediately following mass, at 5:10pm, we will have a ceremony and unveiling on stage. After that, the Athletic Department is providing a FREE chili dinner in the cafeteria. We will have bouncies, games, giveaways, beer, and yours truly will be on the 1’2 and 2’s as the DJ. I can’t stress this enough, we need ALL OF THE ASCENSION COMMUNITY to attend! This will be a well-deserved party and one to never forget. So just to make sure I am making myself clear, please cancel any plans you already have and plan on joining us Saturday evening. This is a completely FREE event. Except for any beer you may want, of course. Spread the word! We want the Ascension families current and past in attendance. I am looking forward to celebrating with all of you on Saturday! Oh, and every student in attendance on Saturday will get a, week long, out of uniform pass!

Ascension has dedicated the weekend liturgies of September 28/29 as youth led mass weekend. Many of the ministry positions for this weekend are being offered to our youth first before opening these opportunities up to our regularly scheduled ministers. These include lectors, hospitality, singers, servers, and gift bearers. For more information on these, and other ministries, and to sign-up, please visit the link below. The deadline to sign-up is September 18 in order to allow for proper preparation of the ministry. ALUMINUM PULL TABS COLLECTION                                                                                                      Welcome back everyone. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. What better time than now to kick off our Knights of Columbus pull-tabs Competition? All proceeds benefit the Kids Cancer Alliance (KCA) and Indian Summer Camp (ISC).
KCA was started in 1981. The vision was to provide a “normal” camping experience for children with cancer. During that first summer, 20 campers attended camp. The volunteer staff consisted of doctors and nurses from the University of Louisville, as well as members of the community.
This past summer, the KCA ran four separate camps in which 241 children attended, all at no cost to them. The Knights of Columbus had breakfast with the kids, and presented KCA a check for $1000.00, generated by last year’s pull-tab competition.
KCA now provides 56 recreation and support programs, that serve more than 300 local families fighting childhood cancer.
Since 2002, we have collected nearly 23,000 pounds of tabs. So now is the time to start filling up those Ziploc bags, milk jugs and coffee cans. Every little bit helps. Together we can make a difference. For more information on Kids Cancer Alliance please visit kidscanceralliance.org or contact K of C coordinator John McCarthy at mccoots1@gmail.com.

BOX TOPS COLLECTION
Our goal is to raise $2,000+ in FREE money for our school! Ask family, friends, and neighbors to download Box Tops for you!The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school!
Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school’s earnings online.
If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing
participating products.
Please download the app and follow the instructions for setting up an account and finding our school. All you have to do is scan your receipt within 14 days of purchasing participating products, and our school earns $.10 for every box top clipped!
