Ascension Longhorn Athletics

Cross Country for Ascension is offered to 1st – 8th grade. The season starts in late July and runs to early October. Practices are typically 2 times a week. The CSAA normally concludes with the CSAA Meets at Tom Sawyer Park.

Basketball for Ascension is offered to JK – 8th grade. The season starts in late October and runs to mid-February. The 3rd – 8th grade is played under the CSAA umbrella where the JK-2nd grade is a different league. We have typically had our jk-2 play in the Saint Gabriel league.  Our JK and K kids will play co-ed and our 1-2 graders will play boys/girls. Practices are usually 2 nights a week for 3rd and up and 1 night a week for the Jk-2nd graders.

Ascension offers swimming to 1st – 8th grade. The main CSAA swim meet happens in early March with practices in February. Events include: freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, and relays.

Ascension offers softball for 3rd – 8th grade. However, in the last several years we have not had enough interest to field a softball team. Our hope is we would have enough but if not we will help place your daughter on another school’s team.

Ascension has had a vibrant soccer program while offering it to JK – 8th grade. Our 3rd – 8th graders play under the CSAA umbrella and our JK – 2nd is organized in the house. Typically, our younger grades have played in the Our Lady of Lourdes league. Soccer for 3rd – 8th starts in early March and runs through Mid May. While the younger soccer program has two seasons. One in the Fall August – October and one also starting in March.

Which includes: St. Agnes – St. Martha – Ascension – St. Stephen Martyr – St. Francis – St. James – St. Raphael – John Paul II – Nativity

Fees are determined by the Central Catholic organizers.
